Draft Ident Videos

This is the current draft of both of my idents 


Currently I am editing and changing some of the shots to make it link better with the overall storyline of both idents.

What I find wrong in the first ident is where a character is seen sitting down facing forward, it does not really explain what's happening and doesn't join smoothly with the rest of the footage. My initial thought filming this was to have a few cuts of a person relaxing while another character is being chased to the building. In order to make the scene link I tried to implement a ringing bell sound effect, where the person sitting down goes to answer, and end up both being chased by the figure in the back, however it makes the scene more questionable, as both characters instantly run when the door was opened, this was a mistake on my end as I did not properly explain the shot to the actors playing the characters. I improvised and instead used that shot again as the person being chased by the figure in the back, and edited out a portion of the footage to make it connect.

Within the second ident draft I found that when increasing the volume there was too much noise found in the last scene, and did not link with the rest of the audio as I intended. The first scene also did not link with the rest of the scenes as it was actually meant to be used for my first ident. I am going to edit this out as I finish off my idents

Work In Progress Ident 1 This is a rough draft of the first ident that I have edited, it's duration goes for up to 40 seconds.     Currently within this I have not implemented any sound effects. I've applied visual effects such as blur and opacity for the picture. The picture I have selected has a transparent background which fits with the overall visual. I have used keys to make certain and edits go frame to frame, allowing for gradual edits such as a fade in or out. For the first ident I have decided to reshoot some shots as well as add more storyline and shots to the ident, to make it more engaging. Resulting in this ident having more than enough footage to both be of effective use and last the intended 30 seconds I originally aimed for. Define audio visual promos Audio visual promos is a tool that is used by companies in media. An audio visual is a product that will attract the attention of audiences. The purpose of it is to be released before the launch date of a new product, to make audiences and individuals aware, by informing, educating, entertaining to eventually sell the new product. This is to increase sales, popularity and interest to the new final product. Audio visual promos can be used in many areas such as movies in cinemas, trailers, gameplays, news, radios, online use. Idents are also an example of audio visual promos. Online use is good as it can be shared across different users very fast. Music promos also exist but are considered shorter. They can contain a teaser of the actual product itself which could develop curiosity amongst interest audiences.

Audience Research

  Audience Research  I have finished extracting the draft videos of my 2 pieces, and have shown them for audience feedback to gain a possible improvement. My teacher has discussed with me that my shots for my first ident was not enough, and that I may have to reshoot for more shots, as well as to implement more actions and scenes within the ident. Since my first ident is based on action I initially thought it would be good to implement action themed conventions in my ident. I have been told that I can use this opportunity to also write more in my script and improve already written areas to make them better and more convenient. At that time I had not researched or implemented any music, which I have now been told to start researching, choosing and implementing into my ident.
