Post Production - Edits and Transitions Report
First Ident
After uploading my drafts I decided that I could improve some shots, I began by removing shots around as well as changing some shots completely to make the ident link more. Within the first ident it originally had shots of character sitting and staring front with the camera shot from behind. It did not really have the effect I intended for so I deleted these few shots, it also did not really explain a link between the other shot. I added in a few more shots that I was going to throwaway as I thought it was not needed. I also added in a transition that fades out the visual while keeping the transparent logo image for longer to create a nice effect. I then used a second transition to swirl out the logo to make the ident have a more smoother ending.
Second Ident
This picture represents the current shots edits and transitions of my current draft idents.
After finishing the first ident I then started editing the second ident. Within the second ident I have applied many different transitions. I've applied a zoomed in effect when the characters pick up the ping pong ball and the two table tennis bats. I then had a quick fade out transition which transitions to the character being filmed at low level with the ping pong ball in their hand, I then added in a couple of fade ins and fade outs to improve the tension and to make it more engaging.
After the last fade out transition I had the visual do a transition fade to a different shot, which is frontward shot of the bat close to the camera, as the character is about to swing. After swinging and hitting the ball it zooms out and fades in the logo. Just like the first ident within the second ident it blurs out the background where the characters are playing and fades in the shot. The blurred background will change shots to make it seem like a montage of clips being
transitioned to showcase the theme of sports.
This is the moment of the ident where it transitions to a different shot with a different character
This ident also transitions out the same way the first ident does, the reason why I have made them similar is because I want both idents to show similarity, and produce a nice theme that the audience can follow along and recognise.
