Evaluation

Evaluation I started by explaining and identifying what I will intend to start doing in my ident campaign, my objective was to rebrand a known channel's ident. The channels that I was could choose from are those of the channels provided by Freeview. On these I chose originally two channels and done prior research to have a final decision of what channel I was going to choose. The two channels that I chose at first were Great! and Paramount Network channel. Out of the 2 I chose Paramount Network as I felt it would give me more of a good opportunity in terms of filming. I then chose how long the idents were and how many I was going to produce. I decided to go with the 2 x 30 second idents, this is because I felt it would be easier to film the shots and I would not have to stretch out to reach the required time. I began by researching what it's current idents were and have found that it was more modern and digital, containing transitions and animation effects, which are blended ...

Post Production - Sound Report

Image
Post Production - Sound Report First Ident Within the first ident I have applied an audio track that gives suspense, since the ident itself is action themed it will build up suspense and tension throughout the first bit.  This is the audio track that I have decided to use. I have edited the audio track so it repeats the first build up of tension, this is to make it connect with the visual.  Towards the end I have edited the audio track again to lower the volume so that I could apply my voiceover.  I then added a fade out transition effect on the audio towards the end, which fits with the visual fading out as well. I encountered one area of the visual that projected a lot of volume this didn't fit with the rest of the footage, so I lowered the volume until it was not as loud. Around towards I also lowered the volume in a gradual pace using key frames, this linked in with the visual where the logo fades in and the visual blurs into the background. This section was  mad...

Post Production - Edits and Transitions Report

Post Production - Edits and Transitions Report First Ident This picture represents the current edits and transitions of my current draft idents. After uploading my drafts I decided that I could improve some shots, I began by removing shots around as well as changing some shots completely to make the ident link more. Within the first ident it originally had shots of  character sitting and staring front with the camera shot from behind. It did not really have the effect I intended for so I deleted these few shots, it also did not really explain a link between the other shot.   I added in a few more shots that I was going to throwaway as I thought it was not needed.  I also added in a transition that fades out the visual while keeping the transparent logo image for longer to create a nice effect. I then used a second transition to swirl out the logo to make the ident have a more smoother ending. I done this through a feature that allows me to position the logo as it swi...

Production Process / Shots Report

Work In Progress Ident 1 This is a rough draft of the first ident that I have edited, it's duration goes for up to 40 seconds.     Currently within this I have not implemented any sound effects. I've applied visual effects such as blur and opacity for the picture. The picture I have selected has a transparent background which fits with the overall visual. I have used keys to make certain and edits go frame to frame, allowing for gradual edits such as a fade in or out. For the first ident I have decided to reshoot some shots as well as add more storyline and shots to the ident, to make it more engaging. Resulting in this ident having more than enough footage to both be of effective use and last the intended 30 seconds I originally aimed for. I still have to implement music, sounds effects and my voiceover. I have not yet applied any visual effects, which I also plan to do. Ident Two This is the rough version of my second ident. Currently I have mixed in different sort...

Audience Feedback Response

Audience Research Response After reading the responses I do agree with a lot of the changes that could be made and what could be applied. My teachers has discussed with me the that the shots for my ident was not enough, I agree with this as I was limited to what I could as it could not let it finish under the intended time of 30 seconds. For the reshoot I was told that i could use this opportunity to implement more action and events in my overall first ident script. I agreed with this as I could use this opportunity to improve the written scripts since I am going back to that stage.  For my second ident I received feedback from a few students. They explained that there was one scene that did not link with the rest of the visual which was the beginning scene. I disagree with this as this scene shows a starting point for the whole ident itself. After attempting to look for a scene visual that would be more fitting, this has linked the best which was originally a first ide...

Draft Video

Image
Draft Ident Videos This is the current draft of both of my idents  Currently I am editing and changing some of the shots to make it link better with the overall storyline of both idents. What I find wrong in the first ident is where a character is seen sitting down facing forward, it does not really explain what's happening and doesn't join smoothly with the rest of the footage. My initial thought filming this was to have a few cuts of a person relaxing while another character is being chased to the building. In order to make the scene link I tried to implement a ringing bell sound effect, where the person sitting down goes to answer, and end up both being chased by the figure in the back, however it makes the scene more questionable, as both characters instantly run when the door was opened, this was a mistake on my end as I did not properly explain the shot to the actors playing the characters. I improvised and instead used that shot again as the person being chased by the f...
